So you’re on a vacation and you’re looking to relax. The hot springs in Chile are a good option, and you’re in luck because Chile is full of hot springs since it’s full of volcanic activity. So almost any part of Chile has hot springs close by and there are all different kinds of scenery to look at while you relax in one. I haven’t been to all of them but I’ll tell you the one’s I have and which are my favourite. So here are the hot springs listed from north to south, all you have to do is see which one is close to you. Just a heads up there are a lot of hot spring in Chile that do not have electricity to plug in blow-dryers mostly the ones that have no entrance fee but there are some that you must pay that also don’t have electricity. I will comment this on the ones I’ve been to that I know don’t have electricity.

Hot Springs In Chile, Arica Parinacota

Aguas Calientes Hot Springs: Located 30 kms from Visviri and is it at 4500 mts above sea level. It has two natural pools. There is no admission cost. You must travel in a private vehicle to get to them since there is no public transportation to them.

Chiriguaya Hot Springs: Located 220kms from Arica. From Arica take the number rout CH-11 toward Tambo Quemado and lake Chungara. Once you pass the lake and before you get to the Chungara border you will find a turnoff to route A-235, from here they are located 20kms to the left. There is no admission cost and you need a 4x4 car to get to them.

De Las Cuevas Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located inside the Nacional Park Lauca, approximately 5kms from the entrance you’ll find the parking lot and the Guardian office. From here there is a 250mtr trail that will lead you to the thermal baths. There is no admission cost and you need a 4x4 car to get to them. The temperature of the water is around 31ºC.

Jurasi Hot Springs: Located 10kms west from Putre, on the northeast side of the Jurasi Break. It’s 4200mts above sea level and has 1 outdoor pool and 2 indoor pools at temperatures of about 50 and 53 C º.

Polloquere Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located inside the Nacional Monument Salar de Surire. From Arica you must take the international route CH11 towards la Paz until km 165, then take the A-235 gravel route for 110km until you get to Puente (bridge) Lauca, Guallatire; Chilcaya. There is no admission cost and you need a 4x4 car to get to them. The temperature of the pools are around 66ºC.

Hot Springs In Chile, Tarapaca

Enquelga Hot Springs: Located 28kms north of Colchane, about a 45 minute drive. There are 2 pools with temperatures around 30ºC. There are also vapour baths and mud treatments. Chusmiza Hot Springs: Located 145kms from Iquique by the Tarapacá Break the entrance is through the Huara-Oruro route. The temperature of the pools are around 40 C º.There are also vapour baths and mud treatments. The tours have to be programmed by tour agencies. Puchuldiza Hot Springs: Located 240kms from Iquique on the road to Colchane. Here you’ll find natural springs with temperatures of about 85 C º. At these hot springs geysers are formed that with cold temperatures can get up to 10-15mts high. You must travel in a private vehicle to get to them since there is no public transportation to them.

Mamiña Hot Springs: Located 125kms East from Iquique and 73kms East from Pozo Almonte. There pools are high up over a valley and have temperatures of around 57 C º.There are various types of pools and mud baths. There is a hotel equipped with baths if you can to stay the night. There are daily tours you can hire from Iquique or transportation that leaves the Mercado (market) in Iquique. The admission price is around $1.500 pesos per person. Lirima Hot Springs: Located 120km Northeast from Pica. From Lirima head south 10kms on A-685 route. The admission is around $1.500 pesos per person and children under 7 are free. Hot Springs In Chile, Antofagasta

Puritama Hot Springs: Located 32kms Northeast from San Pedro of Atacama, on the road to the Tatio Geysers. The hot springs have temperatures of 25º and 30ºC.The admission is around $10.000 adults and children $5000 for the full day and $5000 half a day (from 2:00pm), except on weekends and holidays. Turi Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located 77 kms from Calama in the middle of the Atacama desert and 3kms from Ayquina. They are on a Pukara terrain which was an ancient base of the Inca imperia. The pools are natural pools and it is necessary to drive a private vehicle to get to them. There is no admission cost.

Hot Springs In Chile, Atacama

Rio Negro Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located 170 kms Southeast from Copiapo, inside of the Salt Flats of Pernales. The pools are about 30º and 40ºC and to go to them you must get permition from the Codelco Public Relations Office. You must drive in a 4x4 vehicle.

Juncalito Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located 124 kms from El Salvador. The temperatures of the pools range from 30 and 40 C º. To get to these hot springs you have to take the Salvador-La Ola-Río Negro- and Juncalito Termas route. You must drive in a 4x4 vehicle and have a guide with you to lead you to them.

Laguna Verde Hot Springs: Located 262kms Northeast from Copiapó and the road to the San Fransisco boarder crossing. The temperatures of the pools are around 45ºC.There are camp grounds at the site and it is necessary to drive a private vehicle to get to them.

Hot Springs In Chile, Coquimbo

Soco Hot Springs: Located 30 kms Southeast from Ovalle on the north Panamerican highway on km 370. The temperatures of the pools are around 45 C º.and they contain bromine, iodine, magnesium and sodium. They have pools, Jacuzzi and saunas at their facilities.

The admission is around $3.900 per person. There is a hotel that costs around $37.000 pesos and camp grounds for those who want to stay the night. Toro Hot Springs: This hot springs in Chile is located 181kms East from La Serena close to the border crossing called Junta del Toro. They are inside the Indio Mine company ski resort. The temperatures of the pools are around 45 and 60 C º.

Del Gordito Hot Springs: Located 244kms Southeast from La Serena. In the Rio Grande Sector, close to the Argentinean border in Tulahuéna, 100kms aprox from Monte Patria. They have natural pools and mud treatments. There are trips programmed from Talahuén on donkeys to these hotsprings, it is an 8 hour trip.

Corazón Hot Springs: Located 87kms from Santiago and 7kms from Los Andes towards San Esteban. The temperatures of the pools are around 30ºC,they have a Jacuzzi at 35ºC.

Jahuel Hot Springs: Located 98kms from Santiago,14 kms from San Felipe and 5 minutes from the Santa Filomena crossing. The temperatures of the exterior pool is around 22ºC,the internal pool have temperatures of around 34ºC and the Jacuzzi has a temperature of around 37ºC.

Baños del Parron Hot Springs: Located 7 kms from Putaendo, in the province of San Felipe. The location is in a middle of a native forest of guayacanes. Hot Springs In Chile, Santiago

El Plomo Hot Springs: Located 85kms from Santiago, a 2 hour drive. It is close by the El Yeso reservoir in Cajon del Maipo in the Andes mountain range. The pools are natural and the admission cost $3000 pesos for adults and $1500 pesos for children under 10 years. You must drive in a 4x4 vehicle to get to them. Colina Hot Springs: Located 40 kms north from Santiago, from Colina you have to drive towards Esmeralda. The temperatures of the pools range from 25 and 30ºC. There are vapour baths and mud treatments. The admission to the pools cost around $8.000 pesos for adults and $2.500 for children from 5-12 years old.

Baños Morales Hot Springs: Located 92 kms from Santiago, in Cajon del Maipo. It is open all year round from 9 am to 6 pm. The admission to the pools cost around $2.500 pesos for adults and $500 pesos for children. The temperatures of the pools are around 25ºC.

Hot Springs In Chile, O´Higgins

Cauquenes Hot Springs: Located 117kms south of Santiago and 30kms from Rancagua on the Cobre (Coper) highway. The road runs along the Cachapoal River. There are exterior pools and admission cost around $5.000 pesos. If you wish to spend the night it there are places to so and food services available. Flaco Hot Springs: Located 77kms east from San Fernando. There is 60kms of gravel road that can be done in any car if done carefully. They are open from December to April. Their prices are around $49.500 pesos per person and that includes the night, all foods and pools.

Hot Springs In Chile, Maule

Panimávida Hot Springs: Located 69 kms southeast from Talca and 20kms west from Linares. From Linares you take the road towards Colbún and it’s 20kms from there. The temperatures of the pools range around 32ºC. Aside from the thermal pools, they offer subacuatic massages and mud treatments.

Quínamávida Hot Springs: Located 69 km southeast from Talca and 20kms west from Linares. It is 16 kms from Linares by a native forest and fountains of water, you have to take the road towards Colbún. The admission to the pools cost around $7.000 pesos. The temperatures of the pools range from 18 to 27º C.

Catillo Hot Springs: Located 25 km southeast from Parral and 110km southeast from Talca and 60 kms west from Linares. They are open from December to April. The temperatures of the pools range from 31 to 35 C º. The admission to the pools cost around $3.000 pesos without towels and $500 pesos extra for towels. San Pedro Hot Springs: Located 38kms east from Los Queñes and 75kms Northeast from Romeral. You must cross the Teno River by a improvised bridge. There is no admission price and the pools are natural pools. You must stay at Los Queñes town to spend the night.

Médano Hot Springs: Located 90kms East from San Clemente on the international 115 CH road to El Pehuenche for 116kms, once you get to an area called La Mina you have to take an interior road for 3 kms. These are natural pool so admission is free. You can camp but there aren’t any camp grounds built.

Hot Springs In Chile, Bio-Bio

Minerales de Chillan Hot Springs: Located in the tourist area called Valle Hermoso on km 80 from Chillan. The temperatures of the pools range around 30ºC and 39ºC.There are three exterior pools. The admissions are $3.500 for adults, $3.000 seniors and $2.000 for children.

There are picnic and camp grounds. Nitrao Hot Springs: Located 135kms from Los Angeles, located in the Trapa Trapa Valley. You have to take the road to Rio Queuco and have to pass the Pitril y Cauñicu communities. The cost is $80 US dollars for an entire day of activities. Here you can arrange to horse back ride through the mountain range to the Cenicientos and Chanchoco hot springs.

Avellano Hot Springs: Located 75kms south of Santa Barbara, on the Riviera of the Biobio River. The admission is around $3.000 pesos per person. There are very basic camp grounds for those who want to spend the night. There is a public bus that leaves Los Angeles at 12pm daily. Hot Springs In Chile, Araucania

Tolhuaca Hot Springs: Located 33kms north from Curacautín. They are equipped exterior hot springs, one of them with hydro-massages, and private pools with temperatures of around 90ºC, you can also take steam baths.

The admission for adults is $8.000 pesos, for children from 3 to 10 years $5.000 pesos.

Malalcahuello Hot Springs: Located 2 kms off the Malalcahuello international road. From route 5 you can access them through Victoria or Lautaro and you must drive to Curacautin and from there to Malalcahuello. The temperatures of the pools are around 38ºC.

They also offer spa services such as sauna, Jacuzzi, therapeutic and relaxation massages, tonifying pressure showers, medical herb baths and the application of thermal mud. The admission for adults is $10.000 pesos, for children from 3 to 12 years $6.000 pesos, and under 3 years $3.000 pesos.

Huife Hot Springs, Hot Springs In Chile Huife Hot Springs: Located 33kms north from Pucón. They offer three exterior pools and an interior pool with hydrotherapy. There are also private baths, saunas, massage rooms, lymphatic massages, reflexology and reiki.

The admission for adults is $11.000 pesos, for children from 3 to 10 years $6.000 pesos.

The hydrotherapy pools cost $4.500 pesos. These prices are during high season from December 15th to March 15th. Their low season is from March 16th to December 14th, except long weekends and winter holidays and their prices during this season is $8.500 pesos for adults and children $4.500. The hydrotherapy pools cost $4.000 pesos. There are apartments for rent with their own baths with thermal water for those who would like to spend the night. Menetúe Hot Springs: Located 32kms from Pucón on the road to Caburgua, then you turn off towards Catripulli bridge to San Luis. They offer 2 exterior pools, two interior pools, individual pools, mud therapy and a massage salon. The admission for adults is $11.000 pesos and for children from 2 to 10 years $6.000 pesos during high season (December 15th to March 15th, Easter weekend, winter holidays independence weekend and any other holiday).

During low season (from March 16th to December 14th and excluding the dates mentioned before) the cost for adults is $8.000 pesos and for children from 2 to 10 years $4.000 pesos There are apartments for rent along the Ancapulli Lagoon. Manzanar Hot Springs: Located 17 kms from Curacautin. They offer outdoor pools with temperatures around 48 C º, also they have individual pools and some baths in the hotel rooms. The admission for adults is $8.000 pesos, for children from 2 to 10 years $5.000 pesos and the individual baths $4.000 pesos.

Palguin Hot Springs: Located 30kms southeast from Pucón, on the road to Curarrehue on the turn off to Palguin. The temperatures of the pools range from 36 and 54º C and they have pools for both adults and children.

The admission for adults is $8.000 pesos for the pools and 30 minutes in thermal baths and $6.000 pesos for children during high season (December 15th to April 15th). During low season for adults $5.000 pesos and children 4 to 10 years $4.000 pesos. Los Pozones Hot Springs: Located 36kms from Pucón on the road Pucón-Huife. They offer 6 natural pools with temperatures that range from 30 and 52 C º.Their main attractive is the natural environment during the day also during the night. The admission for adults during the day is $4.000 pesos and during the night $5.000. For children from 2 to 7 years pay $2.000 pesos. Los Trancura Hot Springs: Located 25 kms from Pucón on the international road and you drive toward Catripulli. They offer 4 pools, two indoor and two outdoor, and 10 pools for mud treatment. They also offer outdoor activities such as tours and horse back ridding. The admission for adults is $6.000 pesos and for children from 3 to 10 years pay $4.000 pesos. Quimey-Co Hot Springs: Located 30 kms from Pucón on the road Pucón-Huife. They offer 3 pools, one indoor with Jacuzzi and two outdoor, with temperatures that range from 40 and 50º C. San Luis Hot Springs: Located 29 kms from Pucón on the road to Caburgua, then you turn off towards Catripulli bridge to San Luis. They offer 3 pools, one indoor and two outdoor, with temperatures that are around 40º C. They also offer saunas and massages.

There are also cabins for rent and horse back ridding available. The admission for adults is $9.000 pesos and for children from 2 to 12 years pay $5.000 pesos during high season (January 1st to February 28th) and $1.000 pesos less during low season. Recuerdos de Ancamil Hot Springs: Located 44 kms from Pucón and 4 kms from Curarrehue. Once in Curarrehue there is 4 kms of gravel road but it is in good conditions. San Sebastian de Rio Blanco Hot Springs: Located 60 kms East of Cunco on the road that boarders the Colico Lake. Your can also take the Curarrehue-Reigolil route from Pucon. Carranco Hot Springs: Located 7 kms from Liquiñe on the international road. The admission price is around $4.000 and $6.000 pesos. These are rustic hot springs with pools that have temperatures around 35ºC. Chihuio Hot Springs: Located 60 kms from Valdivia, in the Futrono town. You must take the road toward Lake Maihue and cross the Blanco River and there will be a sign that will tell you the way to the hot springs. These are rustic hot springs that have pic-nic areas.

Coñaripe Hot Springs: Located 15kms from Coñaripe by the Pellaifa Lake. The admission price is around $7.000 pesos and $9.000 pesos for covered pools.

El Rincón Hot Springs: Located 18kms from Coñaripe, 19kms on the road towards Los Cajones. The admission price is around $7.000 pesos for adults and $3.500 pesos for children. Their contact number is (08) 419 4341.

Eco Pellaifa Hot Springs: Located 55kms from Panguipulli and 16kms from the Coñaripe road towards the Pellaifa Farm. The admission price is around $3.000 pesos for adults and $2.000 pesos for children (6-10years). There are two cabins available to rent for the night. Geométricas Hot Springs: Located 13.5kms into the National Park Villarrica on the road that goes from Coñaripe towards Palguin. The admission price is around $14.000 pesos for adults and $6.000 pesos for children (15 years).

For Seniors the price is $6.000 pesos during low season. You must pay in cash. They are open from 11am to 7pm during winter and 10am to 9pm during summer. The entrance includes towels, there is no electricity al their facilities. Hipólito Muñoz Hot Springs: Located 8 kms from Liquiñe and 1 km from Llifen town on the road to Calcurrupe. Río Liquiñe Hot Springs: Located 72kms East from Panguipulli on the international road. They are open every day of the year from 8:30am to 10:30pm. The admission price is around $4.000 pesos for adults and $2.000 pesos for children (10 years).You must pay cash or with cheques. Hot Springs in Chile, Los Lagos

Aguas Calientes Hot Springs: Located 31kms East from Entrelagos and 80kms East from Osorno. You must take the international 215 route that leads to the National Park Puyehue. During low season the access to the outdoor pools cost $3.500 pesos and the indoor pools cost $7.000 pesos. During high season the outdoor pools cost $3.500 pesos and the indoor pools cost $9.600 pesos. There are camp grounds and cabins for rent. Cahuelmo Hot Springs: Located at the end of the Cahuelmo Fjord near Hornopiren. You must get there by ferry and its 50 kms south from Hornopiren. These are rustic pools and are only open during summer season. The admission price is around $3.500 pesos for the pools and $1.500 pesos to camp there. The ferry cost around $30.000 pesos per person. Callao Hot Springs: Located in the National Park Vicente Pérez Rosales. From Puerto de Petrohue you must head toward Puerto Rincón. Then you must do a 4hr hike or go by horse for about 2 hrs. The transportation to Puerto Rincón cost about $40.000 pesos. These are rustic hot springs and their temperatures are around 39º and 42ºC. The lodge has rooms with prices that start at $3.000 pesos. El Amarillo Hot Springs: Located 30kms Southeast from Chaitén and 4,3kms from the crossing of El Amarillo with the Carretera Austral (route 7). The admission price is around $3.000 pesos. They offer one large outdoor pool and also have cabin on site to rent for the night. Their email is termasmichimahuida@hotmail.com.

Llancahué Hot Springs: Located on the island with the same name, in Hornopirén locality. Only 20 minutes on a boat ride to this island and it cost $6.000 pesos for a minimum of 7 people. The admission price is around $7.000 pesos for adults and $3.500 pesos for children. There is a combined price if you pay for transport and the hot springs the cost is $12.000 pesos.

Pichicolo Hot Springs: Located 90kms from Puerto Montt and 9kms from Hornopirén. You must take the Carretera Austral (route 7) 9 kms from Hornopirén until you get to Lago Pinto Concha. The admission price is around $7.000 pesos for adults, $6.000 pesos for seniors and $5.000 pesos for children. During low season the general price is $4.500 pesos. Porcelana Hot Springs: Located at the end of the Comau Fjord on the western area, in the Hornopirén area. The only way to access them is via sea and because they are private property you are only permitted to enter and camp with previous payment. The admission price to the pools is around $5.000 pesos for adults, $2.000 pesos for children. They also offer an excursion with a guide to the Porcelana Geiser for $8.000 pesos per person.

They have a place you can spend the night at the Porcelana Geiser site for around $10.000 pesos person and with all three meals for $20.000 pesos. At the hot springs there are only camp grounds. Their contact number is (65) 765 281 or (08) 262 0185.

Puyehue Hot Springs: Located in the National Park Puyehue, 76kms from Osorno. You must take the international route 215 from Osorno. They offer an all included all day program that costs around $163.000 pesos during low season and $194.000 pesos during high season. They also offer saunas, hidro-massages and mud baths. Hot Springs in Chile, Aysén

Afloramientos Maca Hot Springs: Located on the northern Riviera of the Aysén estuary. The only way to access them is through private navigation and they are across from the natural monument 5 hermanas, close to the coast and they have a small interior lake.
Puyuhuapi Hot Springs, Hot Springs In Chile Puyuhuapi Hot Springs: Located 215km north from Coyhaique. On the Carretera Austral you must head toward Bahía Dorita to Puerto Las Pulgas. From here you must take a boat for 20kms. There is a hotel and spa at the site to spend the night if you would like. Quitralco Hot Springs: Located south of the Aysén fjord. You must hire a trip on a boat to access them. Their contact number is (02) 231 10 30 - (02) 232 22 69.

Ventisquero Hot Springs: Located 6 km south of Puyuhuapi. They have 4 outdoor pools that have temperatures around 35º and 44ºC. There is a cafeteria at the site.
